How to sharpen my new sword?

Question by Mo Charlebois: How to sharpen my new sword?
I just got a new sword for my birthday, and i was wondering how i could sharpen it. i cant find any local sword sharpeners and i dont trust random people with grinding stones. is there a good way of getting it to razor sharp so if my brother messes around i could deal with him??

I want to own medieval weaponry, i just find them so interesting. But i keep wondering, do i have to have a permit like guns require a permit to own? Or when i’m the right age, i can simply just go and buy a sword or halberd and not get in trouble about it?
